I had been managing my own property for a few years and was reluctant to use the services of a Property Agent (as people had told me of negative experiences in the past and that Property Agents do not always have the same level of commitment that an owner would.)  However, it became harder to manage once I moved to the Eastern Suburbs and I started to feel  overwhelmed by the responsibility   I was renting an apartment in Randwick through The Edge Property Agency and their property manager Daniela Todaro was my key contact.  I was impressed by Daniela's ability to manage the expectations from me as her tenant and the interests of the property owner.  For example a few minor issues needed to be recitified and Daniela, while acknowledging the problem, never promised what could not be delivered and ensured the owner's permission was always sought prior to commencing any work.  This made me feel that I was being dealt with fairly as a tenant and gave me comfort that if my property was managed by the Edge, my interests as an owner would be both protected and respected.   Once I signed on with the Edge, it was such a relief to have a sensible and capable person ready to deal with the unexpected - The fridge broke down (on a 41C day), Daniela was straight onto it!  It only took 48 hours from notification to the tenant receiving a new fridge (and the old one being removed)!   I also appreciate being able to turn to Daniela for guidance on tenancy law, rental return rates and general questions - she gives the matter consideration and I can rely on her to be balanced and honest by giving me the pros and cons to help me make my decision.   I anticipate my property being with the Edge for a long time to come and have no hesitation in recommending their services!
